2014 Auckland Marathon

This week for Maths we were focusing to the 2014 Auckland Marathon Problem. For this learning I worked with my friend Miki to solve the problem. This DLO shows how much faster was the winner than average for 2014 Auckland Marathon Full and Half. 

World of Maths

Yesterday we went to World of Maths. We met a man name Charles who talked us through all the activities that I couldn't to do. We got into small groups of five, four or three. My favourite activity was the Greedy Blocks. It was my favourite activy because it was very challenging. We had to use add, subtract and division. My group had to work together to get all 5 answers. It was very hard but we got there in the end.

1. 32 - 5 = split 32 to 30 + 2  5-30=25  25+2=27
2. 34 - 4 =  split 34 to 30 + 4  30-4=26  26+4=30
3. 37 - 6 =  split 37 to 30 + 7  30-6=24  24+7=31
4. 33 - 8 =  split 33 to 30 + 3  8-30  22  22+3=5
5. 39 - 7 =  split 39 to 30 + 9  7-30=23  23+9=32
