In this activity I had to find a cathedral that's in New Zealand, Write down when it was built, How long it took to build, the name of the cathedral, where it was built and I also had to add in a picture of it.

The Saint Mary Cathedral Church is located at the peak of a hill in East Perth, at the center of Victoria Square in Western Australia. The Saint Mary Cathedral Church took 70 years to make and was opened in the early 2000's.

  1. Hi Mataio,

Ruby here from the Summer Learning Journey team!

Good work with this activity. Well done! That looks like a really impressive cathedral. It would be a very cool place to visit and have a look at.

70 years is a very long time to be building just one building! Why do you think it took them such a long time to build it? Some cathedrals take much longer to build. The Notre Dame in Paris took almost 200 years to build!

I look forward to reading more of your blog.
    Cheers,
    Ruby.

  2. Hello Mataio
Well done on finishing this summer learning journey activity. Your facts about the Saint Mary Cathedral Church are great. I wonder why so many cathedrals take so long to build. This one took 70 years and the Notre Dame in France took almost 200 years. Keep up the good work.
    Daniel
