Today I did the second activity for day four of the summer learning journey, for it I had to read about some Maori games and then choose one of them. After that I had to say what the name of it was, the goal of the game and then two of its rules.
I chose Ki O Rahi because I have played this game at school.
Goal: Score points by getting the ball or whatever object is used for the game, team with the most points in the end is the winner.
Rules:
1: If you're in the inside circle you have to use the bridge to get out.
2: You have to hit the barrel in the middle of the circles to get points after you go around tapping the sticks sticking out of the ground.
Hi Mataio
ReplyDeleteMy name is Sarah and I go to Glen Innes School
What wonderful work you have done Mataio Excellent work.
Why did you pick Ki O Rahi for this task?
Hi Mataio,
ReplyDeleteRuby here from the Summer Learning Journey team!
Good work with this activity. Well done! You've done a great job of explaining what happens in the game. It's great that you've played this before, it gives you a good perspective and helps you describe it. I've played this game before as well but I'm not very good at it!
Have you played any of the other games that were listed on the Summer Learning Journey website? I really like playing Poi Rakau because it's about hand-eye coordination. I'm much better at that then I am at any running games!
I look forward to reading more of your blog over the summer.
Cheers,
Ruby.
