For reading this week we read the next article leading to the treaty of Waitangi. The text we read was about the one week before the treaty of Waitangi was signed. It was an interesting book. While reading we had to note all the words we are unsure of or interested in. After reading the text we were to make a DLO summarizing the whole article. I worked with Ofa and Fraidoon. When we are summarizing a text we use a special method which is to write the 20 most important words, then the 6 most important words and write a short summary. This all links back to the words we were to write down while reading the text.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Ms Kirkpatrick and Mrs Anderson.

Duffy Books
Today there was a Duffy Assembly and we were lucky enough to have Matt Johnson (Blues Rugby Player) and Taylor (BMX 4 time champion) to join us. They came to talk to us about their job and their childhood but they also talked about how reading is a huge impact to their careers. Taylor talked about how she had to read a lot as studying to be a lawyer and Matt Johnson said to us that he loved reading and talked about how education comes before sports. We also received our Duffy books and had a photo taken with it. The books I received was The Infinity Ring and My School Project.

Professor Stephen Hawking
Sadly Professor Stephen Hawking passed away last week, 18 of March 2018. I have created this DLO to show who he was, why he was famous, and facts about him. In this task we focused on using our own words and attributing images of Professor Stephen Hawking.

Care Awards - Respect - Life At P.B.S (Panmure Bridge School)
For one of my Silver Respect CARE Award task I had to create a collage of life at P.B.S. It shows you what I have done and learnt in this school. In the first picture it is explaining what we did with Sally from Water care. In the next picture it is showing what I have been learning at Kiwican this year. The next photo shows our kiwi sport which was softball.
